SENSATIONS FIX-FRAGMENTS OF LIGHT, LP, 1974, ITALY
Following my post of what I believed to be the second album by these Italian space rock titans (turns out it's actually their third, as their first was a promo-only release, as noted on the comment board), here now is their also quite excellent second album. The thick blanketing acidy atmospheres of Portable Madness have not yet reached saturation point here, though the trip out factor rates nearly as high, albeit with a more airy laid back edge that gives it a slight Manuel Gottsching "Starring Rosi" quality thats quite appealing in it's own right.

Wow, I am now like a really big fan of this bands thanks to you guys at Mutant Sounds. I can't believe that I never heard the music they made before. Great heavy analog Italian stuff. It sounds a bit like Ash Ra Temple clashed with Goblin. I really love it. And I'm definitely going to search for the solo album that this one member made.
cheers!

Fantastic. 5/5
Looks like I missed 'Portable Madness' so I'll have to check that out as soon as possible.
Worth noting is that the cover has a little line of text that says "Dear Robert, you'll be pleased to know that the Heavenly Music Corporation is alive and well..." - or something to that effect, making a clear nod to Fripp & Eno.
I always thought Sensations Fix deserved a lot more credit and attention for being such an interesting fusion of guitar, synth and rock, definitely a bit tripped out. This, Portable Madness and Finest Finger are faves of mine to zone out to.
