DENIER DU CULTE-L'ARCHANGE ENFLAMME, CD EP, 1994, FRANCE

This French experimental project features both Lieutenant Caramel and Alain Basso, both of whose evocative electronic works have been featured elsewhere on MS. That said, the baleful vibes and clattery, cavernous, dissected quasi-rock malevolence enacted by Denier Du Culte operates at a distinct remove from either Caramel or Basso's solo works. Brief bits are suggestive of Holy Money-era Swans, Hwyl Nofio and Circle X Internationale, but this is really it's own beast.

  1. This is really super! Sounds like it could have been done 8–10 years earlier at the height of the post-TG European blast that spawned DDAA, PD and others. Total news to me—Thanks.

  2. First, let me say a huge thanks for all those great records you and mutantsounds have been uploading all this time.

Second, I would like to make a request. Beeing a great fan of your work with Vas Deferens Organization, I tried to find and listen to the first Sound record "Drunk on Confusion", but it has been pretty hard to find. So (if of course you're OK with it) would you be able to upload it?
