The Phantom Payn-Vol. I "Dig The Squares - They're Ugly",1991+Trouble With Ghosts (Revised Version),1993, LPs,Germany

Although posted elsewhere in the past , i decided to post these 2 LPs ,as they were requested a while back . Great acid damaged psychedelic guitar compsitions of this ex 39 Clocks member ,Jürgen Gleue , under the Phantom Payn moniker. An out of space combination of Bevis Front's lysergic tunes with Paul Roland's gothic acid psych ballads. In parts reminding me White Light,White heat era Velvet Underground, yet more trippy!
get them here and here

  1. How do you do it, Jim?! You're a hero, as are all who contribute here.

Thanks for the great spate of posts including this and the numerous cassettes.

    Fantastic,

  3. So nice! Do anybody have the missing tracks on the The Phantom Payn album 'Trouble With Ghosts (Revised Version)' the 1st song of Side B - Caligari's Medieval Electric Dream?

    That will be so good

  5. Another amazing post from an amazing blog. Thank you soooo much.

The cover on 'Dig The Squares...' of The Twinkeyz "Aliens In Our Midst" reminds me... can any of you possibly post the Twinkeyz anthology released in the late 90s on Anopheles? It's been out of print for years and I can't find a copy anywhere. I'll love ya forever.

  9. That feelinkindafroggy blog has gone, so perhaps more Payn related stuff could appear here? Here's hoping! These two are strangely addictive. Does anyone know what happened to this guy? I read somewhere he doesn't perform or release music anymore (tho judging the life illustrated on these records it doesn't seem surprising!)

  10. Jürgen Gleue is alive and well and is currently self-publishing German psychedelic comic books that he writes and draws. He is also overseeing the reissues of 39 Clocks and Phantom Payn recordings on the American label De Stijl. It's all amazing stuff..
