V/A:Subtle Hints, LP ,UK, 1983

This is the rare Comp Lp by Undiscovered synth/Electropop bands from the early 80s..The record here is from 1983 on the sane label..This was the first release on the Sane label and was put together because so many bands sent demo tapes etc so they decided to put them out on an album..Most of the bands on this Lp never released a record so the demos etc that are on this album are all thats avaiable by them..There are some amazing tracks on this album very basic and raw sounding...

  1. This Squid Diddley song I first heard on one of those Flexipop comps., it's a good song. Squid Diddley should have released more music.

    1. Hidden Pleasure were an electronic band from Bridlington in East Yorkshire. The track that appeared on the Subtle Hints LP was specially remixed for the compilation at Ken Giles Recording Studios in Bridlington. Sisters of Mercy recorded there many times back in the day.

    1. Just 1000 were pressed in late 1983 by Sane Records, plus 2 "test pressings" so 1002 in total.

  8. No further pressings were made after the initial run of 1000. Sane Records also released a further 2 compilation LPs in 1984, "It's Unheard Of!" and "On The Street".
