V/A:The Thing From The Crypt, LP, 1981, UK


Perhaps, IMHO, the best (together with Welcome To Norwich LP) and most essential diy synth, new wave, post punk UK compilation ever, fantastic groups and amazing tracks included!First appearence by SAD LOVERS & GIANTS with "Take me inside" (only available in this compilation!) and "Clint" (first demo-like version, not available anywhere else!).Two tracks are included by each group present and there are some great ones like GAMBIT OF SHAME, EXHIBIT A, MEX, S-HATERS, SOFT DRINKS. Top stuff!!!

    About the Reifenstahl upload : the last 2 songs are the same song ...and the order of songs is confusing.
    I checked on the net the LP track listing which is like this (12 tracks) :

    One Two / Die Wunderwaffe / Der Wüstenfuchs / Epilog / Space Invaders / Zerbröckelnde Gesellschaftsstrukturen / Bonanza / Intellektuell / Reumütige Raumfahrer / Tritt bitte nicht auf mein Glas / Je T'Air / Ich denke oft an dich

    Can you fix this little confusion ?

    oops!i think that the zipped file has mistakes...silly me...i'll check it and let you know....will upload if it is needed the right version....thanks for your remarks!

    There are some *nice* tracks here, but also a lot of bad ones. Cannot understand why you like this one so much - must be more memories than quality, could that be? Not to offend you or something, but often with this old stuff one does not know: do I like it so much only because I know it? Or would I like it the same if I heard it today for the first time? : )
