I got only one thing to say....some people are so stupid that they keep on offending and complaining and so on...i don't understand why and do not understand why they do it anonymously.For the last offensive comment(which was rejected of course),i never said that ll these are my own rips...BUT many of them are.I have in mind who want to spoil my reputation and my blog but once again i tell them:"the enemy of good is the better one"!

ReplyDeleteI seriously don't know why anyone would be complaining about this blog, as I consider its appeareance to be the best thing that has happened so far in 2007! I've already been exposed to tons of new music, stuff that I would probably have never heard otherwise, like Catherine RIbero... I apologize isf some of my earlier questions were taken the wrong way. I enjoy coming here a couple times each day and seeing what new stuff you've got up. For me, your blog is the best site on the web!

With blogs, you will always get these geeks and dweebs who complain about things like the quality of sound, about which blog posted what album first, about how rapidshare sucks, about how you are making vinyl LP dealer assholes kill themselves, and so on.
ReplyDeleteDon't listen to these jerks. Mutant Sounds has been the coolest blog ever since the Insect and Individual blog closed down. But the thing with Mutant Sounds is that you have MUCH BETTER taste in music and you are not limited to one style. Your blog combines prog, industrial, synth-punk,
art-punk, freaked-out psychedelic,
vintage ambient, electro, new wave, and just everything cool.
Ignore the couple of jerks. Just remember that even though there will always be a couple of jerks and geeks complaining there are still MANY MANY MANY people from around the world who come to your blog and dig what you are doing even though most are too lazy to give comments. Even though they don't give comments, I know these other people are still WITH YOU and love what you are doing.
And finally I must say, you were VERY SMART for moderating your comments. Don't let these jerks post comments on your blog, just continue to moderate your comments and delete the bad trash that they write. Don't ever waste your precious time getting into a war with them, you have much better things to do. Just ignore them. If they don't like it, they can leave...there are still thousands of other Mutant Sounds fans that are happily satisfied with everything...all over the world!

ReplyDeletei was merely offering you a friendly suggestion. three simple words -- not my rip -- adding these words to your posts, when appropriate, would relieve you from ALL responsibility for poor quality, low bitrates, errors, skips, track order, missing tracks, audio format, or ANYthing else people choose to complain about. these simple words tell people that it is not your fault. that you are merely passing these rare items along. that you have the exact same thing they have. that they, like you, should be happy to have anything at all. -- not my rip -- without these three words you imply that your posts are all your own rips, which is setting you up for complaints should someone not be satisfied.

I -- WE -- could care less whether or not you personally own the original vinyl. The important thing is it's here.
The RapidShare deletion thing was unfortunate, but a regrettable hazard of the realm. Anyone who doesn't understand that and cut you some slack for it is a buffoon.
You not only make available stuff that is beyond impossibly rare, a revelation, a complete delight, utterly inspiring -- you even devote what is obviously considerable time and effort to compile and write *invaluable* and *knowledgeable* information about every post. It really is amazing to me, and I'm very very grateful for every single post, even if I don't do a download.
As someone who's been into this music for 25 years now, and remembers when all this knowledge was available only by word-of-mouth and (gasp!) postal mail (and even then you'd be lucky!), just the text and images alone are worth their electronic weight in gold. Nevermind actual quality recordings. Truly, it is all manna from heaven.
My friend: Mutant Sounds is, straight up, both a PhD-level education in avant garde music and as fun as a sonic Roman orgy in a toy store stocked with canisters of laughing gas. Your reputation is manifest for all to see. Anyone complaining about your blog doesn't deserve to visit it.
