ReplyDeleteThis blog is really intense. I just lost three hours poking around abd I'd like to thank you for it
ReplyDeleteGreat many thanks for this one. Haven't had/heard it in a while. As always, your blog shines. Thanks for the care and time used to maintain such a creature.
ReplyDeleteAll the beast!
fab stuff.. thanks geezer..
ReplyDeleteSo what are the other 2??
ReplyDeleteAh, great record, yes indeed. Notable artwork as well.
ReplyDeleteGotta say, your blog has me by the collar. I love it. Each post is like an army to pummel the synthetics of pop culture. The albums posted say 'THIS is what we're capable of.'
Keep it going. I love this blog.
this is a time trap,in a good way, though this is the cd re-release, rather than the original 2LP, i don't suppose you have the original second vinyl, Themes 1?
ReplyDeletevarek Ultra indeed...
actually i do have this 2LP in the very limited edition with sculpture(i think this was an about 70 copies edition)....BUT since i've paid many EUROS for this it was easier for me to rip the cd re-issue....the Themes 1 LP has been released also seperately and will appear soon allong with Themes 2&3 in this blog
ReplyDeletethanks was fishing for this the other day but failed to get a proper catch! so to speak :)
ReplyDeletei feel very excited still about you posting cortex 2nd lp sometime soon but there is no stress, take your time i am very amused by the other posts too!
you asked if any other swedish stuff: well how about prog-theatrics group "nationalteatern"? i am just testing you now...surely you can know every band hey? Lol..
:)
nationalteatern coming to blog tomorrow or late today:)
ReplyDeleteJust want to take this time to thank you for the incredible work you are doing here.
ReplyDeleteI've lost hours upon hours to this blog alone....
Please, keep it up!
given that i only have their 83 release 'dreams less sweet', this sounds very different though - almost pop-like, imo.
ReplyDeletenevertheless there's a big variety in it, and that he tributes someone like battir atta from the master musicians of joujouka is wonderful...
Do you still need a copy of the Le Mat LP? mail me - mettleh@hotmail.co.uk
ReplyDeleteit is a great album but did you use the cleopatra reissue or the some bizzare one ? (the mastering on the cleopatra cd is very bad imho)
ReplyDeleteneither cleopatra nor some bizarre....actually it's a japanese cd reissue
ReplyDeletethis is a great album, along with Dreams Less Sweet one of my favorites.
ReplyDeletethanks mutants sounds, apologies if i was athena-centric in a previous comment...thessaloniki is as interesting in a different way...
ReplyDeletelooking forwards to the themes posts...btw do you have any greek experimental music..and could you point me to a blog which has some marcus barbanyakis(??) instrumental bazouki sounds, i have one very old vinyl lp plus a cd of illegal drug songs and the sonics are amazing...
thanks for your big efforts philo moy.
Hi:
ReplyDeleteI am The Herbalist, co-founder of www.prognotfrog.com
I have been getting everything you post since mid february (by everything I mean all those I didn't had already).
There are a few things I wanted to tell you. The first is the most obvious THANK YOU.
The second thing is that I must say that you have a great blog (and an essential one, precisely because you post trully weird and rare stuff). I am 47. I own 1000's of albums. I am a musical advisor. I have had several radio shows in my country and I have given many seminars about modern music, so I think that my opnions are worth something)
Yah you have a weird taste (some would say), but I find that weird is a relative term and I do think that people that like, let's say Whitney Houston are the real weirdos. We are just persons who follow the path that our curiosity draws before us.
Of course I don't like everything you post. Nobody can. Some of your post are trully wonders. (You posted Factrix! I have the vynil!)Some maybe are albums you feel emotionally attatched to. Some have historical value. Some are there just for completion purposes. Some are trully jewels and/or masterpieces. What you're doing is very important, becuase you are unearthing many forgotten treasures. Nad you're giving thick and rich knowledge just for the pleasure of giving it.
Having said all that I do have a couple of suggestions...
The first is ---> please don't post that fast. Too many albums and too little time to download them. I will give you my reasoning for asking that: You're upload to rapidshare, which is surely the best service but, for those of us who do not (or canvnot) have a premuim account, getting many albums from rapidshare is a torture. The waiting between downloads make things difficult and tiring. On the other hand, please remember that after 30 days without downloading the files will be deleted. So if you post too fast and we don't have the time to download all of the albums some might get deleted.
The second sugestion ---> is more subtle. Be careful my friend. Do not answer the comments that those idiots make. All they want is attention. If you have a fight with them they could hit you back by reporting your links as "illegal" to Rapidshare staff and they could get deleted. (That has happened to many many blogs. Rapidshare Staff do not check the files. If they get a complaint they delete without any previous notice and without any further research on the validity of the claim).
Finnally, test other services. megaupload is a good one for example.
and now finnally I must say the music I have gotten from you is..
Twisted
Deranged
Nocturnal
Painful at times,
Horrible indeed.
I love it
PS: My email is lagunitagolf@cantv.net
Good Luck!!! Be Well!!!
Good stuff, love your blog! Keep up the good work, my only complaint is that you post too fast, I don't have the time to download and listen to all that stuff.
ReplyDeleteHere's a request: I've been looking for Wire's "Vien" EP (released under the "Wir" moniker) for quite some time …
Mutant sounds I think your blog is a symbol of highest thought ideals...first it reminds one of how vast the scope is and that how noble can people be to want to share this stuff...Iam grateful beyond the above text
ReplyDeleteOne record that relates to this PTV release is producer Ken Thomas' 1980 solo album
ReplyDeleteKen Thomas - Beat The Light - Fragment Records

Does anyone have it ?
Never heard it and thinking back to this era of PTV reminded me of that ...
