HNAS-ICH KANNTE EINEN GUMMIBAUM, TAPE, 1987 + THE HUMOUR AND WIT OF..., TAPE, 1987, GERMANY
Heemann, Flamm and Co.'s desultory dadaist digressions are equally thrilling and maddening and the looser context of a tape only release really lets their arbitrary zany capriciousness reach critical mass for better or worse (or both). The continuously dissociative quality of these two tapes renders deeper parsing a bit superfluous, but both are essential pieces of the puzzle for those sold on HNAS willfully maladroit mystery school of arcane aesthetics.
Note: the lengthy "The Humour..." is split into two parts and there is unfortunately no individual track indexing on either of these. Just side A and side B.

I really can't thank you guys enough for the HNAS/Heemann stuff. I have collected this stuff for years and it is great to have it in the digital format. Besides that some of these are nearly impossible to get at this point ... thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to thank you for the beautiful Ch Heemann and HNAS posts. I thought you and the readers of this blog might be interested by this one. It's HNAS 1991 CD 'Musik Fur Schühgeschafte', their first CD release I believe. I included scans of the booklet. Here's the link:

I have problems downloading the 2 HNAS K7s you posted yesterday. I see the mp3s in the .zip folder but I'm unable to copy the files on my hard drive. As for now, I could only get The Humour And Wit Of... side B. I'll try again tomorrow.
Keep on the good work.
Laurent, use the program "7-Zip" to extract these.
ReplyDeleteIt's freeware.
All the best,
Lex
I'm also having problems unzipping these HNAS tapes. WinRar and StuffIt are unable to process the naming. I suspect there are German characters in the naming, or the titles are too long.
ReplyDeleteYou were right! It all worked perfectly with your '7-zip' trick. Thanks!

Holy Cow! You are rounding off my HNAS collection with all of these super-deicious rarities! Many thanks as usual.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Good to see there are some more folks helping out Mutantsounds, good job guys.
thanks for posting the HNAS - Gummibaum - one less tape for me to rip...
ReplyDeleteEndless thanks for these HNAS tapes, incredible posts!!!
ReplyDeletethanks again, incredible stuff -- just so you know, you may not want to put ellipses at the end of file names. (You know, the three little dots that indicate a trail-off thought ... ?
ReplyDeleteWhile 7-zip can handle it within the programme itself the Windows file system does not like it and truncates the information. You have to go into zip file and drag and drop the mp3 files instead of choosing a menu option (i.e. in a bulk unzip). Didn't know whether you knew this information, been having issues like this all over the blog with unzipping files.
Thanks for posting these cassettes! I have tried downloading Ich Kannte Einem Gummibaum and was thwarted when trying to extract the files. I am being asked to type in a password but haven't been able to find it. Otherwise I have been overwhelmed with all the old favorites and as yet unheard gems. I appreciate all the effort and time it takes to curate such a collection and make it available to others, very commendable!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the new links to these H.N.A.S. recordings. Can't wait to dig in!

Thank you so much, I look for more material from them but all links are dead.
ReplyDeleteGreetings!
