Owing more to the Philip Jeck/Janek Schaeffer abstracted ghostly crackle side of the vinyl manipulation equation than the more turntableism-qua-turntableism tactics of Christian Marclay or Otomo Yoshide, this EP of Van Bebber's actually predates both Jeck and Schaeffer's involvement in these arenas. Highly vivid, thoughtful and detailed work that goes miles beyond just mashing up a bunch of vinyl source together.
