This Floridian experimental bass player (a member of the David Moss Dense Band and featured on the CD of theirs I recently posted) has frequently lent his talents to the flipped out lo-fi fusion experiments of Dimthings, whose albums will be featured here in coming days. On this predominantly solo release (Dimthings and another drummer guest on about a third of this), Chaine constructs fascinatingly rubbery, insular little vignettes out of electric bass, classical bass guitar and cello, whose lo-fi soundworld has a certain akin to Roger Miller's guitar-centric solo album "Oh".
