BOGDAN WLOSIK-S/T, 12" EP, NETHERLANDS, 1984
One of two faux groups created by this pack of Dutch pranksters (the other being a faux French post punk unit called Agonie Ajournee) these odd ducks, probably best known for their work with Dagmar Krause in Commuters, here play at being a Polish dissident underground art rock band, with a Polish gal pal wrangled in to translate text and spiel over the sounds and the results are often highly amusing and enjoyable, with detuned strings sawing away amidst much thudding as wheezing harmoniums and spasmodic clatter fill in the blanks around Monica Malewicz's nutty nattering.
Note: The band themselves are offering a high quality digital download of this EP on their Bandcamp page for an optional donation. Get it Here
Always wanted to hear this one so thank you very much for posting it. Any chance for Agonie Ajournee in the future?

ReplyDeletecheers ... H
Bogdan Wlosik is a name of a real person: it was 20 years old man killed by communist SB officer in 1982 during anti-regime demontrastion in Nowa Huta in Poland.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct, anonymous. That's the Bogdan Wlosik after which the recording project was named ...
ReplyDeleteThere is now an official hi-quality digital download of this album available at Bandcamp, including several related goodies. Paypal payments you would care to make for downloading the album or individual go directly to the artists. Thank you for your care and support.
