TAKO-S/T, LP, 1983, JAPAN

Nope...this is neither the ghastly new wave novelty act nor the thunderous Yugoslavian prog band of the same name but rather a jibberingly psychotic and musically schizophrenic Japanese outfit whose sole release was this mad little treasure released on the uber collectable Pinakotheca imprint, the label responsible for releases by the likes of Pungo and Anode/Cathode (both previously posted here) and the title at hand, one of the most baffling admixtures I've heard from an underground that's always specialized in head-scratchers. Beginning with what sounds like Phil Minton choking on a chicken bone, we thereafter are treated to everything from twee pop, vaguely R.I.O.-ish detuned chop and lurch, delicate piano etudes, baladeering over a bed of scabrous acidy guitar rancor and huffing horns, transistor radio broadcasts, backwards tapes, barking dogs over cartoon soundbeds, tinny hardcore, something that sounds like the Wolfgang Dauner-Oimels loop appropriated by Nurse With Wound and sundry other sonic perversions too obscure to quantify.

  8. Thanks man. Can't believe I found this obscurity for download. I want it because I believe the bassist Shintaro Sugiyama (Ex The Stalin) performs on it.
