ANGEL RADA-UPADESA, LP, 1979, VENEZUELA
Astounding and utterly obscure instrumental avant synth confections that could easily pass as prime era Sky Records fodder but cut with a wooly enveloping amorphousness that favorably compares with library music synth god Bernard Fevre. Often rather like listening to Zuckerzeit-era Cluster or Tyndall thorough a film of narcotic purple syrup, this treasure's been on virtual repeat play for the last week here at casa Lumbleau, and it's spell over me doesn't look to be abating anytime soon...

Oh man, this is so cool. Cheers me up. I could almost cry with happiness. Kraftwerk are nothing compared with this. Makes me feel like a little kid. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteamazing!!! this is wild. the first track blows me away. so good! thank you.
ReplyDeleteoh, it looks like every one here got crazy about this record, but i'm not so very happy with it. anyway thanx.
ReplyDeleteit heavily reminded me some old electronic communist movie soundtracks i got fuckin tired years ago (think edward artemiev or something), and maybe that bordered 70-80 synth muzik like the first logic system (that is much stronger). but how the hell someone have managed to compare it to kraftwerk i dont know))
the best part of this muzik is the fact that it's from an exotic_somewhere_i_cant_even_spell_correctly.
ps. isnt it from '83?
Anyone know why when I click to download it just refreshes the 'download now' page instead of actually starting the download? Something wrong with Z-share these days?

ReplyDeleteTHIS IS WHY I COME HERE!
ReplyDeleteAbove Angel himself is giving his newest work away free himself. Now i look for more comments for some of the best and here is an actual Gem to behold in almost forgotten music of the past.
I probably heard this over 50 times last year and it is still something i somehow can't get enough of.
thanks once again!
also to Angel Rada himself if you see this.
I agree, it's amazing just how many of these wonderful headstrong headcases (compliment) have left comments on Mutant Sound's blog over the years. I'm just glad to hear they're still kicking it about!
ReplyDeleteThanks VDO & MS for the ridiculous amount of quality music you've put into circulation on the internet. Best site on the net! And again, thanks Angel Rada for the crazy music.
Mr. Rada himself is sharing this album and others on last.fm!

I want to hug this old man.
"Mar De La Tristeza" sounds a bit like a synth-version of Bobby Beausoleil's soundtrack for Lucifer Rising. This is seriously an amazing find, thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteOutstanding stuff, this is a once in a blue moon find for me, I cant thank you enough and to top it all, the man himself is posting here. I'm off to grab his 2012 album and thank him.
