THREE ODD LITTLE ODD-SIZED RECORDS
NICK PAINE-SOLID STATE/CALIFORNIA BEAMING, HEXAGONAL SHAPED 5", 1981, USA
Choice minimal/synth pop zaniness from the camp/quirk/cheese we-are-all-robots end of the continuum and which lands somewhere in the general neighborhood of New Occupants, Computer Sex and Futurisk. The cartoon martian march of California Beaming, with it's call-and-response vocal smurfiness is a real genre topper for me.
PERSONA NON GRATA-33.3 RPM ANALYSIS OF SOUND WITH CHEESE, 6" FLEXIDISC, 200?, USA
A big slithering Smegmatic pile of stroboscopic psychedelic entrails that sounds like it was yanked wholesale from the cartoon carcass of the L.A. Free Music Society, courtesy of this Blazen Y Sharp and Blazen, Sharp & Gerber-affiliated combo (their work to be found elsewhere on MS), with a sound not at all far from Solid Eye at their most densely deformed and taffy stretched.
PAL ASLE PETTERSEN-SPOR..., 8" POLYCARBONATE LATHE CUT, 2002, NORWAY
A small granular universe of hermetic crinkle that also takes in steely isolationist drifts, bursts of chopsticks and party favors improv, tweezing barely-there onkyo electronic flickers and looped clatter accruing spectral keyboard half-melodies. Yes, this is a good sight more nebulous than most of what floats my boat at this late date, but it's a really nicely conceptualized and assembled affair, regardless.

Persona Non Grata's record is the most exciting and wonderful tracks I heard since h3o/ptv collaboration. Could you write more about these artists? Is there any more works like this?
