Rapidshare links

I hate having my hand forced, but Rapidshare's recent decision to eliminate links that have been uploaded anonymously (read: uploaded by a file spreading service like Sharebee)
after 10 downloads requires that I do so. After the number of issues we've faced over time with links being threatened by the respective situations with Massmirror, Xirror, Shareonall, Z-share etc, having a saved Rapidshare link of a file seems essential, so it appears that I'll now have twice as much uploading to do, as all my (that is vdoandsound's) posts in the future will now feature links for both Sharebee and Rapidshare, as do the five posts of mine below as well now.

  1. Sorry to hear it.. I was wondering what was going on with Rapidshare. Thanks for taking the time to also upload to Rapidshare... much appreciated. Great site to discover music i may not have been exposed to before. Thanks!

  2. I'm not sure if they are applying the 10 download rule to old links as well but if you need sharebee links for many of the posts from the first few months in mutant sounds history (which I've been slowly working my way through) I would be glad to lend a hand.

  6. RS are pushing people to get paying accounts. I don't know if it's regarding traceability or just to ensure more income.
Anyway, supporting this is not good in my opinion.
Give up rapidshare for mediafire which is completely free. I think it's not normal, when offering a free service AND limiting bandwith (I love my RS dls @ 40 kb/s past 4PM), to also limit people who upload stuff to their system.

Anyway, now I know I'll never buy a RS account. Megaupload is far more user friendly.

    Thanks for the efforts though.

  8. why not just depend on another service like Mediafire? they allow multiple/faster downloads for unregistered users.

  9. k.krusete-Why? Perhaps it's because of Mediafire's delightful habit of deleting link after link after link.
    Everybody now, 1, 2, 3....FUCK MEDIAFIRE!

  14. Love this blog. It's like a museum for musical art that's constantly updating the exhibits. As for RS, it's got its pros and cons like everything else. But whatever you do is totally up to you.

  19. This is my first time on this blog but it seems great.

I would suggest Mediafire, much easier, no limits and from my experience, the only things that get deleted are the things by big bands.
