YOU-YOU ARE COMING, LP, 198?, USA

This top dollar collector-scum-baiting minimal synth LP walks a fine line between endearing and "oh, dear-ing", the former courtesy of some zippy, zany synth-poppin' New Wave kitsch fun in the spirit of Pink Section, The Units, Computer Sex and, most specifically, The New Occupants; the latter when they stray into a too-cutesy-by-half schtick ala Xex, the former fortunately largely outweighing the latter, with plenty here to insure that dopey grins and bouncing legs are mostly the order of the day.

  7. Hi Eric, I had a dream that you surprised us tonight or early tomorrow with 5 new posts, and each new post was an album that was sold on eBay by you very recently. Please make this dream come true, if you can. :O) Thanks for everything, as always.

  8. Yes! I love this LP. I just posted their final release, Neek, on my blog (goutroy.blogspot.com). I had been meaning to post it for a while, and thought now was the perfect time...

  9. Thanks for the link to Neek. Too bad the bit rate is only 192, plus the songs are not tagged properly. :( Oh well, beggars can't be choosers.

  10. Hi Mutants, I just got back, was such a hectic week for me the straight jackets and shock treatments at the insane asylum were too much when I was locked up this past few days but I survived cant keep a good nut down. But I must say they did serve up a nice plate of lasanga and fried rabbit kabobs. Also the drugs were something else my head is still realing I need my mutant fix now I hope this is a good one. If it isnt im gonna go out and melt all my albums and drink the wax, then Im gonna go streak thru a baseball game.

  11. I was thinking about this band recently. They were one of a very small handful of bands that had commercials for their album on MTV in the very early years. At the time I thought "Man, what losers to have a TV advertisement" and the tone of the ad was odd too-- it was like they assumed that everyone knew who they were. Even though I liked the music I kind of held a grudge against them for those commercials, and passed on this LP several times when I came across it cheap. Oh well.

  12. I vaguely remember their promotional campaign. It would be interesting if someone YouTubed those commercials...

  13. I was digging through some LPs and I found this one. Can anyone tell me more about the band. Also, does anyone want to buy it from me? Or should I be hanging on to it for dear life?

  15. Merci beaucoup pour ce disque, qui m'intriguait depuis un moment, mais je dois avouer avoir été assez déçu au final par le côté passe-partout de l'album. Bonne continuation !
