A master class in hermetic art rock screwiness, Philippe Doray's debut album (his follow up Nouveaux Modes Industriels was posted by Jim ages ago) is one of the de rigeur mindfucks from as scene overrun with them, it's specific sickness emerging from a dimension that you could reference to the likes of Birge Gorge Shiroc, Heratius or Jean-Francois Papin, with artfully disjointed and spare arrangements full of squirrely vocals and chants and an abundance of Faust-ian surrealist charm discreetly mangled by savvy effects processing.

Hello Mutantsounds.Thank you very much for sharing all this cool music on your blog. My name is Mauricio and I am looking for an instrumental electronic theme of the late 70’s or early 80’s in the line of Jarre or Tangerine Dream, I listened it when I was a Kid and it stayed on my mind untill today. So I get borrowed an electronic Keyboard and I made a very simplified version of it, I have no professional equipment so the sound and edition has a very poor quality. I wonder if you can help me to identify the name of the theme and the artist or band who plays it, please put special attention to the melody. This is the link where you can listen the sample. Thank you very much, greetings and keep on touch. Mauricio

ReplyDeleteany chance you could re-upload the lucas trouble - miss syphilis/el verolo 7"? I can't get the party on mutant beach comp to download and I lost it when my computer crashed. thank you. this is the best music blog ever.
This French rock band industrial music meets experimental rock/bric a brac , Albert Marcouer-Faust-Heratius-Ilitch ,like album, is , at once, daring, bizarre, off the cuff, engrossing and fascinating and one VERY rewarding experience for the listener, like myself, i 1st heard it in January 1995 , and of course, it even inspired me to get some ideas of my own ....wonderful stuff...be sure to hear it yourselves!!
