STICKEN-IN-CHINESE, LP, 1985, GERMANY

Some sadly overlooked Can-indebted post punk beauty here folks! Sticken-In's stark but fucked instrumental palette seems to take a leaf from both their mentor's collaborations with Japanese vocalist Phew and from Damo's vocalese, resulting in lots of harmonically/structurally sophisticated concepts being advanced here, with other tips 'o the hat in the direction of of Gang Of Four via scribble/scratch guitars and P.I.L. via dubwise production maneuvers of a downcast demeanor.

  1. This is some strange music. It does remind me kinda of p.i.l.

Was there any other albums done by them?

  2. Iam only getting 8 tracks whereas I think there was ten. Maybe just me? Iam thinking my computer cut the archive short perhaps. Thanks for the great music :)

  3. anonymous-all the tracks are there. It's just that there were two instances where tracks cross-faded into one another, so those have been marked as a single track with both songs titles listed together. This happens anytime I post something when there is no ability to insert an edit point without chopping the music up.

  4. There's a serious nod paid to the Pop Group and their uber spastic sound. Maybe a little touch of Swell Maps, Pere Ubu, and The Birthday Party as well for good measure. Excellent indeed.

  5. The guitar at times reminds me of Snakefinger.
