ARIEL PINK AND VAS DEFERENS ORGANIZATION UPDATE
Just a little bulletin to let all of you know that the forthcoming Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti album "Before Today" on 4AD Records will contain a track by Ariel's new alternate outfit Ariel Pink With Added Pizzazz, this recording having been produced by Vas Deferens Organization, the band/production team that I'm a part of. Added Pizzazz is comprised of Aaron and Stefan Gonzalez (double/electric bass and drums/vibes, respectively) and Jim Lehnert on sax and trombone, with guest appearances from Dennis Gonzalez on trumpet and Tamara Cauble on violin and with engineering, production and sound design by Vas Deferens Organization. Further announcements about these and similar matters will follow in due time...

ReplyDeletekiller! i can't wait to hear this.
ReplyDeleteI've listened to all the material of Ariel Pink's that I can find to see what all the talk about him was. I still really don't. In my opinion the music isn't that intrigueing.
ReplyDeleteyawn
ReplyDeleteI see the potential for greatness with Ariel, and I think Shits and Giggles is fucking astounding, but I personally think thats more of a VDO record than an Ariel Pink. Don't get me wrong I hear Ariel on Shits but I think its what they said, "a collaboration or a band". I am truly fascinated by the idea of Vas Deferens Organisation getting to do a "real" production on Mr. Pink and the HG Bunch!!! From what I have heard from VDO on this blog I think VDO can do no wrong ;-) -Just my 2 ¢s

Hi Bernard,
ReplyDeleteI've responded privately to this, but to all the others reading this, may I please encourage you to turn out for this Audace gig? Their sound is highly fascinating and original (so fascinating that we (VDO) ended up working with them...more about that upcoming project soon...). To my ears, what they do splits the difference between and advances the cause of both dadaist laptop abuse ala Stock, Hausen & Walkman, Dat Politics and Mu and the sorta 80's Gallic eccentricity that labels like Ayaa and bands like Ptose were proposing, a very fine idea if ya ask me...
hey what song is it youre referring to? i have the leaked copy of "before today" but im for sure going to buy it vinyl once it comes out.
ReplyDeleteoeddy-Hot Body Rub (track 1) is the piece that VDO produced. Thank ye for the interest...
