Massmirror Issues

I've noticed the last few days that 4 out of 6 upload links to massmirror fail to upload. Also noticed that from the links provided the most used are those of Rapidshare. If the problems with failure to upload continues the next few days ,i'm thinking of returning to Rapidshare-more waiting hour of course but much more reliability and stability.Let me know what you think guys.

  2. Haven't had any problems with massmirror at all, some sites don't like being l do however find it very reliable, and also it's good to have a choice of file host to download from, so we get an opportunity to check out all the music posted at mutantsounds. Vive la massmirror!

  3. From my point of view Massmirror is still far superior, but if 4 of 6 files failed to upload, I can see why from yours it wouldn't be. I probably download too much anyways, so do what you need to do.

  4. Up to you, Jim. I have no problem with Rapidshare.

This is an amazing blog. Thanks for all the Mutant Sounds!

  5. looking at the most recent couple day's worth of posts, it seems that only Banda do Casaco failed to upload. And although Rapidshare had the most downloads in most instances, if you add up all the other download options, more people used an alternative to Rapidshare. Maybe the upload problems are something you experience and you keep uploading until it works, which is why they all seem to have uploaded but one. For many of us MassMirror is a godsend, but we are leeching, not uploading, fine music we'd never hear elsewhere.

    thank you for EVERYTHING!

  6. Even with some of the uploads failing it's still nice to have the choice of filehosts. Basically it means that I don't have to pay for a rapidshare premium account.
On the other hand, I've never grudged paying for a premium account- it's honestly not very much money for access to so much great music.

  7. yeah, return to rapidshare...., i agree. rapidshare link fails to upload with massmirror.....

  8. if the problems with massmirror persist (I noticed it too) then I say do what you feel is best.

however, not flog a dead horse, but I'd urge you once again to give mediafire a try before returning to rapidshare. no waiting periods, speeds pretty much the same as rapidshare, I've only had one problem so far in the entire time I was using them - and I think that was just due to them doing server maintenance while I was trying to upload.

I've also tried badongo and it seems pretty good too. the only wait with them is, at worst, a 45-second countdown before the DL starts. and even that hasn't been happening lately.

anyway, sorry for the rant. but I've found mediafire to be extremely reliable in my own experience.

  9. All yr. uploads I've downloaded with zshare.net through massmirror. zshare is only one way to download - good speed and no IP limit. I can't download with rapidshare bcoz I've external public IP (my fuckin ISP), every time i must wait about 130 min and only after this i can download, but if I late I must wait again.

  10. massmirror. the one hour waiting is a complete turn off for me. some links don't work with massmirror, but eventually one is working fine. i'm downloading much more albuns now with massmirror, as i don't spend too many hours on my computer.

    thanks for sharing.

  11. Jim & Eric,

The reason why 4 of the 6 Mass Mirror links are being deleted is this:

The latest fad to hit music blogs is reporting the links as illegal to ALL 6 HOSTS INDIVIDUALLY, but Rapidshare, Megaupload, zShare, Deposit Files and Sendspace are the fastest to delete illegally reported links.

Some hosts like Badango, for example, may require 10 or 20 complaints about one particular link before they remove it.

But Rapidshare, on the other hand, only requires ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT and they will delete your link.

Therefore, Badango may turn out to be the best host going forward, given the fact that they side more with the uploader (you) instead of some nobody complaining about an illegal link.

    Just some food for thought.

Thanks again for all that you do.

  12. I've also tried badongo and it seems pretty good too. the only wait with them is, at worst, a 45-second countdown

Badango doesn't have any countdowns. You can download anything there immediately.

  13. for the wildings post:
all links fail except the one for 4filehosting.com.
and this one requires an identification code, again and again and again. am i doing something wrong? i cannot dl this....

  14. please, no more rapidshare;) Seriously, the waiting period is a torture. But whatever your choice is, you still have my respect and gratitude.

  16. I would prefer you stick with Massmirror. Even if some of the servers fail to load on 1 occassion, they usually are working when I go back later. Also, while rapidshare may be the most used server the number of people not using is considerably greater than the number of people who do use it.

  17. Today your first posts are loeading on all servers while the last few postings have only uploaded on bodango and 4file hosting Concerning the deleters, I've never noticed megaupload or zshare deletie. Futhermore Sound Express and Lady June are available on all servers while all the last uploaded files loaded only on bodango and 4file. Does the deleter have preferences? Would he rather see more files of "The 012" deleted rather than "Sound Express?" From my experience with mass mirror the last few days, the problems have paralled the problem today. Your first 2 files upload to all servers and the rest to bondogo and 4filehosing. The problem seens to be the number of files uploaded. Rapishae is allwayn available and the premium plan is cheap. So I vote for Rapidshare. Does massmirror take more time than just uploading to two sites search as Rapishare and bodango? If the time is similar you might upload to Rapidshare and a free service like bodango. One more thing, most of us who purchase a premimum account do so for ledd wait times and convience. While it may be ture that you only have to wait 45 seconds for some servers, the total downloading of the music can be as much as 45 minutes whle most Rapidshare files are completely downloaded in 3 to 7 minutes. On all of these plans it costs etxra to get less download time.

  18. Mass Mirror is better, i think they've got problems these days

  19. i prefer mass mirror right now...
i also agree that you should try out mediafire---which is fantastic...my second choice is zshare....

    thanks for the mutant sounds!

  20. massmirror please. it's good to have choices. i've been reading this blog since january, and since you switched to massmirror i haven't used the rapidshare option once. personally i like badongo the best, no wait times, and it seems pretty reliable so far.

  23. A vote for Reliable Rapidshare. Perhaps in another week or so you can try Massmirror again.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Rapidshare is by far the simplest and most reliable.

  25. I find that massmirror gives a variety of reliable sites to download from (badongo, zshare, rapidshare). It would be the best choice as far as i'm concerned. Keep up the great work you're doing! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  26. massmirror-- rapidshare's waiting times are ludicrous, and its nice to have the flexibility to choose which site to dl from, so if limits are imposed, you can still do several simultaneous downloads.
    thanks for all you do!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nooo, not rapidshare, then it'll take hours to download all of this good stuff. I kind of prefer zshare and sendspace. Anything where i don't have to wait between downloads. Thanks a lot, and keep up the great work!!

  34. hi there!

    I greatly prefer MASSMIRROR -
screens that don't seem to load
generally come up if you just
click and drag the mouse across them once

    RAPIDSHARE is some SLOW thang

  35. i prefer MEDIAFIRE, BADONGO, ZSHARE, in that order. massmirror works because it includes that latter two, but i really prefer mediafire.

the downloads are lightening fast with mediafire and i haven't had a file deleted off there yet. plus they have no upload limit and the file size can be up to 100mb. you already split large files so there is no hassle there. i don't know, just consider it if you're going to change again. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. oh also, in terms of the "unpublished" person above -- i've noticed i have trouble getting comments published. not because of you, but because they don't seem to send? i know it doesn't send because when it DOES go through it will say it sent and needs to be approved at the top of the screen.

when i send anonymously it will go through, but sometimes when i use the "google/blogger" and "other" options (i have a blogger account) it doesn't go through. i don't know why, but maybe that person was having the same problem? :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have had a few problems with massmirror but it is only when you try to upload a filename that other hosts block. I almost never have had a problem using massmirror.

Rapidshare sucks it is so freeking slow no matter what server you pick, anyone without a premium account will tell you the same thing... which is most of your blog downloaders.

Plus even if you do have a premium account you can still use it to download from rapidshare with massmirror.

    ReplyDelete
  38. PS I just uploaded a file. and guess what... no problems what so ever.

    http://s2.massmirror.com/06b91886c18af4de8a8e1b42bcd6e6de.html

look for yourself.... Please use massmirror it is by far a better service!

  39. I do find the pleading for Rapidshare ironic, considering Rapidshare is included in Massmirror, and the links usually don't fail.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Rapidshare is a drag, but if that's what it takes for others to be able to download, then so be it. I have had no problems with MassMirror.

    please keep massmirror

  42. Just a reminder to all requesting mediafire: they deleted five of my links in as many days a few weeks after beginning to use their service for my MS posts.
They are one host who will without question not be used.

    ReplyDelete
  43. no, problems with massmirror here. the entire idea about downloading things was that it was free and easy, right? Why would you waste your time and money dealing with rapidshare?

If you add up the people who use the sendspace, bodango, and zshare links on the massmirror page...that not only adds up to the people who pick to use rapidshare but it also beats that number.

Why deal with the money making corporation of rapidshare if you don't have to!

I'm sure two years from now Sony or Microsoft will have their own version money making file uploading places similar to rapidshare...and then you will have suckers asking you why you are not using Sony or Microsoft version. They will even start using the lame "better bitrate" excuse.

I agree with the others rapidshare is more of drag

  44. Gee, there seems to be such a variation in people's experiences with different hosts ... so I might as well add mine ... my G5 with Safari has never had any trouble with Rapidshare and lately there seems to be no countdown to DL either, even though I don't have an account. This is terrific, and drops an average full album on my desktop in about 4 or 5 minutes which is OK by me. And when I don't want to wait for an hour to make another DL I go to Megaupload and that's just as good, The other links are pretty spotty or just don't work at all although I did get through on Sendspace once or twice ... I don't bother with the others much unless I'm desperate and I might go round them all again for another try, but Rapidshare and Mega are the only one's that work every time. Love the music, thanks.

  45. www.divshare.com

This site does not seem to limit downloads in any way. Also, I have never experienced any broken links or errors with it.

  46. I have a blog called Eclectic Grooves and I have been using Massmirror to upload files on there without any problems. Occasionally a couple of the links on Mutant Sounds say that the file is unavailable, but one of the other links works fine. Please stick with Mass Mirror as it is a much better service than Rapishare.

    Thanks, Kevin

  47. Rapidshare is included with Massmirror.. is there that much to think about? It is a win-win.

Please, let's stop with the silly irony of having to choose. I say, if it makes you feel better to state that it's an official Rapidsh "supergreat" link, then try this:

    Upload to Massmirror.
    Copy the RS link.

    Provide BOTH links to people:

    OR

It's the same thing since MM ->RS

Just a little common sense, folks, please, jeez.

  48. As a Mac-owning techno-incompetent, Massmirror is the only way I've ever been able to download anything from this incredible blog (via ZShare, which seems positively idiot-proof)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh God...
    Not this again.
I thought this whole Rapidshare versus Massmirror dispute was resolved a few weeks ago.

I share the same view as the mystery poster.Rapidshare users can still download via Massmirror.
Enough of this divisive "choosing" thing.

  50. Mutant-Sounds Team, you are giving to me (and to many people around the world) the opportunity to know Artists that I never will get, and my musical knowledge is increasing! I'm glad for this!

In reason of this, and I belive as well that it is the one of purposes of your blog - to give the chance of the most number of people to know this works! - sites like Rapidshare or Megaupload restrict this possibility! They are good hostess services, very reliable, but to hinder an easy and fast download for a majority.

It looks like inconsistent to me! You share your music of one's own motion. The internet allows the free sharing. And the most of this records are out-of-print!! Why to pay to use an hostess service, if there are Mediafire, Sendspace, Divshare, Badongo, Turboupload, Sharebee, 4shared, and even the Massmirror - free services and very good too???

You can see the example of Annie's Animal Blog: he makes use of a several sites, and the result is very good! You can try...

But please, do not return to only rapidshare. I would like that blogs like "Because God Told Me Do It", "The Thing on the Doorstep", "Direct Waves" and others follow your example using Massmirror... to preserve the freedom in the internet!!

    Sorry for my English!
    Thanx

  51. Rapidshare's fine by me - no problems with it whatsoever 'cept or the waiting time between downloads, otherwise it's really simple & reliable. Massmirror has been a bit of a letdown in my experience...

Thanks (again) for the excellent music tho'.
