No...not THAT Tomita! This Tomita (Yann...Not Isao) is another professionally inscrutable Japanese nutter fond of staging elaborate and obtuse spectacles. This one, staged in 1993 is, much like his uber-ludicrous Doopies work, narrated in a completely po-faced manner utterly at odds with the antics it intersects with, among them: loudly zapping and splatting cosmic electronics, light classical music, radio dial surfing, beefy rock drums, flatulent slick jazz funk and some very fetching passages of effected violin, all intersecting in various unresolved ways suggesting not synthesis but uneasy co-habitation. Unique and genuinely baffling, right down to the packaging that includes a conceptual second cardboard "CD" called Heart Beat. Running time: as long as your life.
