I.Q.-S/T, 12" EP, AUSTRALIA, 1983

Australia's Ken Davis has been dishing out textbook New Age treacle (sample title: Pan Flutes By The Ocean) to a global audience of yoga mat-bound acolytes for quite some time now (his youtube hits come close to 4 million), but back in the early 80's, he could be found helming arch new wavers IQ, who despite having no relation to the wince-inducing UK neo-proggers of the same name were similarly steeped in pose and emulation. Youtube clips show 'em wielding dual Fairlights and fronted by a pouty Gary Numan clone while dressed like extras from A Flock Of Seagulls video shoot (it's un-embeddable but you can check out the video here), but the hooky arpeggiating arithmetic of their structures and plaintive vocalizing (sometimes in a vaguely later-Hawkwind style) will launch several of these ditties squarely at the nearest minimal synth geek's g-spot. Thanks to blog friend Ward for dredging up this one!

'File abused' already? Assuming this release is as unavailable as it looks to be, could the take-down be due to it being a too-discomfiting revisionism of Ken's current new age 'treacle'? One hopes not. Anyways if there's no clear grounds for the removal a re-up would be great!

That video is so bad - it's like every New Wave cliche packed into 4 minutes. But the song is really good!

Not on topic here, but if you're a fan of Blacklight Braille, a local radio station had an interview with Owen Knight last Thursday night. It's available at http://www.peakofnormal.org/

Rapidshare was found guilty of copyright infringement by the German government about a month and a half ago and have been forced to take draconian measures on the files they allow to be uploaded. You might want to look at another source for your uploads.

Could you please re-upload "Stenblomma - Alla träd har samma rot"?

Thanks in advance.

NOT deposit files, rapidgator or freakshare - or friggin' Mediafire. *Currently* Mirror Creator, Adrive, Zippyshare and, yes, ye olde Divshare safest/best for both up & downloaders. Could change tomorrow.

I just discovered this gem of a music blog trying to find some music by Bernard Paganotti. Your selection is beyond impressive, keep up the great work! Also, not sure if this is the right place to recommend, but "Hagyou" by Jim O'Rourke, Akita Sakata, YOSHIMIO is a fantastic album that would fit perfectly with the rest of this library. cheers!
