I.E.-ART FOR WAR'S SAKE, LP, 1987, USA

I.E.'s queasy keyboard universe unfurls itself with a side-long slurry of syrupy synthetic weirdity, "Out Of The Water" being comprised of thick tides of bloop and wooze bedecked with haunted house themes that wheel about in wobbly orbits. It's a thing of sick beauty but the brain burning B side is where the real action is, with cyclically warping and faux spooky amniotic electronic rock grooves that churn and devolve in a brilliantly queasy psychedelic stasis somewhere between Steve Thomsen's bleary cartoon lope and the melted sounding French 70's electronic acid prog of Spacecraft.

Side 1 has some good ideas but is ultimately a bit annoying and half baked. Side 2, on the other hand, is totally killer!

Fuzztunnel is dead on. i am on this album and I was unaware that i was making an album. I thought we just screwing around at the PSU studio and getting stoned. The whole of it is half baked.
