ELECTRIC CIRCUS-LIVE AT THE QUARTIER LATIN, LP, 1976, VARIOUS

Comprised of German guitar/synth giant Toto Blanke, Dutch keyboardist Jasper Van't Hof and Finnish drum master Edward Vesala, Electric Circus was Blanke and Van't Hof's vehicle for continuing to work together after the dissolution of Association P.C., several of whose albums have been posted on MS perviously, as have those of Blanke and Vesala. The first Electric Circus album (released as Toto Blanke-Electric Circus) was notable for it muscular and often sequenced fusion workouts that sometimes came within spitting distance of Heldon electronic rock territory. Here (minus the presence of bassist Dave King), the three diverge from that album's M.O., instead aiming for a something looser, sparser and more shambolic, albeit still prone to periodically launch into barrages of intensive and tight as a drum fusion workouts. It's an oddly riviting seam of constriction and release these boys are working here and the tension is palpable.

Tuesday and massmirror is still not working, unfortunately. Can't wait to hear this Electric Circus album, and the Arturo Stalteri stuff you posted, but it's not going to happen until massmirror gets back online :-(
By the way, do you have Toto Blanke's album Spider Dance?

regards
Chris

Hiya! I'm surprised no one has pointed out that Jasper van 't Hof is Dutch not Danish. The "van" is a bit of a give away...
