MARK GLYNNE AND BART ZWIER-HOME COMFORT, LP, 1980, NETHERLANDS

Odd, eerie and occupying a unique musical and psychological landscape, the closest I could come to describing this quizzical post-punk combo would be to suggest a fusion of mid-period Tuxedomoon at their most languid and non-rock overlaid with Ka-Spel-like sing-speak narrative moves. Not always 100% successful, theirs is still an utterly singular and obsessive soundworld with an approach completely distinct from anything else going on during the era.

Hi,

Just surfing on the internet and I found this site.. I really like to read the comments written here, and I wonder how did you get this LP?

Bart Zwier is my father and has lived in the Netherlands pretty much all of his life.. So that's why I wonder..

Has there been more people buying this LP?

Hi Magali-Well...first off, tell your father his LP's great. It's grown on me even more than at the time I wrote my text. I wonder...has he released anything else? I got the LP from a rare records dealer in Holland, though I can't recall exactly what prompted me to buy it. I seriously doubt there's been many more people buying this record nowadays. It's pretty damn rare! Can't recall seeing it around almost at all over the years in combing through rare record catalogs and ebay.....

It makes me very happy to read this, you really liking this LP so much.. I wish I could've told him, but he doesn't live anymore..he died in 2002.
Still, he would have been delighted to hear this..
I have some old tapes which he recorded, but nothing like an other LP, I'm sorry..

This is so gorgeous, thanks.

Especially "Tick Tock Nightmare." But it seems like the same track shows up again at the end as "The Survivor"? Is something missing?

Thanks again. Sorry to hear about Mr. Zwier, I would've liked to hear so much more from him…
