JAC BERROCAL-FATAL ENCOUNTERS, CD, 1993 (RECORDED: 1971-1992), FRANCE

Longtime eccentric gadfly of the French radical musical underground (as well as part time actor and model), Berrocal has been a collaborator of Lard Free's Gilbert Artman (in the art damaged post punk band Catalogue) and Steven Stapleton over the years, though a thorough list of his co-conspirators since the early 70's would run for pages. This crazy quilt cross section of 21 years of his elusive doings, most all unreleased elsewhere, is a great point of entry for the uninitiated into Berrocal's lopsided universe of improv scuttle and art punk scramble tied up in a scrim of elegant esoterica. Note: this lengthy CD has been divided into two parts.
