I wonder if there's any logic to, or support for, the thought that you both should cut back on the sheer volume of posts per day. I realize that we're all having a good time with this blog (posters and readers included), but the regrettable thing I find is that I simply don't have the time to listen to all the good sounds you guys are putting out there. I end up putting all my downloaded folders on a drive, and I don't think I'm able give some of this great music the proper attention and deep listening that it deserves and demands. I'm appreciative, as I think we all are, but I do a lot of "skimming the cream," as it were, and because there are so many posts here (not to mention on other music blogs), I probably end up passing on good things because I simply don't have time to listen to music constantly throughout the day. It seems sometimes like you guys are trying to "outdo" every other music blog in terms of sheer daily volume and I have to believe that some other readers would agree that the importance of some of this music is getting lost in the deluge. Too much of a good thing can still be too much—just something to think about. I hope that you'll take this comment in the kindest and most appreciative light (as it was intended.)
And not to be confused with an American thrash-metal band...
Of course, the other school of thought is that you just plain don't have to listen to EVERYTHING. I think it was Alexander Pope, speaking of Samuel Johnson, that he was the last man to have read everything. Nowadays there's just too much; you can't hear/read/see it all.
But just because you can't hear/read/see it all doesn't mean we should march down to our local library and ask them to buy fewer books until we can catch up, or ask the local video rental place not to buy any more new releases because we still haven't seen all the Godards or Kubricks or Vardas or Herzogs, &c. &c...
Listen to as much as you can, and be glad that there's a superabundance out there.
My feeling is that this site is contributing to the universal library that is the internet, and the more the merrier, the bigger the better. Pick and choose--- and enjoy the buffet!
Anyway, that's just my two cents.
I knew someone was going to start their crying about too many posts. Then they start crying about you shouldn't post this and that and so on.
I love all the post Mutant Sounds.
Yeah the flow here is heavy at times, but that is what is so cool. All this great music is being dusted off and opening up ears.

Yeah, I didn't think that there would be much support for the concept of "less is more" here; just thought I would test the waters. The Internet has taught everyone to expect everything instantaneously and in great quantity; all I was trying to say is that in that situation I believe some of the deeper appreciation of things can get lost. I'm certainly not the type to complain over the absence of posts on any music blog, as it gives me a chance to catch up with stuff I've already downloaded. Also I don't believe I was whining, just politely and articulately expressing a point of view. I'm glad that people like Eric and Jim are out there with their great collections and willing to share. Perhaps I'm a little envious of the lot of you that have all the time in the world to surf the Web, download music and listen to it; I'm a fanatical collector, but no longer have the free time to get to it all. Excess rules!
