TONE FLOAT-MUSIK VON TONE FLOAT, CD, 1997, USA

As requested, here's the sole album by this VDO-related pseudo-supergroup, initiated back in '97 and conceived of at the time as a sort of umbrella project with a krautrock theme that would bring together some of the disparate folks in our orbit at that moment, Tone Float was VDO's follow-up session to our production work on the debut album by Doug Ferguson's band Ohm and would ultimately result in Doug (R.I.P.) joining VDO. Also involved were both Mazinga Phaser's Wanz Dover and (though unannounced at the time at his wishes) Daniel Huffman of spacerock also-rans Comet and, lately, Ghostcar. Wanz and Daniel would both end up abandoning this project midstream; each contributing to two cuts on the resulting album. Musik Von Tone Float would largely close the door on an era of our work that was explicitly geared toward the psych/prog collector geek circuit and it may well be the best of the lot, summarizing a host of kosmiche tendencies explored across our Saturation and Zyzzybaloubah albums.

This one's a killer - doesn't sound like Organization or Harmonia as the title would suggest - of it's own sounds this one. Picked this up a couple of years ago, as well! One of the best recent releases I've heard of it's kind, great textures and micropatterns happening here and really good for deep listening with some magic mushrooms!

Fucking Fantastic!!! i brought musik von tone float and Queas And Art from a guy here in new zealand, he had a labal under the name of cranium music, he new what i was into and rang me strait away when these came in, i brought them imediatly maybe not at the same time but you get the picture, i have been a VDO fan ever since my first listin, unfortunatly cranium music folded and richard went awall somewhere out there in the world, he was a great guy with an incredible knowledge on all music freaky :) unfortunatly i was robbed some years back and had all my music collection stolen and i only had my music recorded in small formates as i didn't no much about computers back then, i have finaly caught up with the rest of the world and connected to the interweb and one of my first searches had to be to VDO sounds so thankyou so much for putting this amazing music up here in 320 kb's, i wish i had the monetry funds to by everything vdo and anyone who has ever worked with you guys, i don't no how to say thanks enough for these sounds, thankyou for some amazing sounds and memories :)
