SCREW SHAREONALL...I'LL BE USING FILEDUCKY FROM NOW ON UNLESS THERE'S A COMPELLING REASON NOT TO

Having just visited the hippy-djkit blog, I was rather alarmed to note that they've had
a vast number of the posts they've made using Shareonall deleted after some malicious turd evidently complained to them. Well...all I can say is fuck that nonsense! Shareonall can go shit in their hat. I'm just relieved that I discovered this before using their service for more than one round of posts. Unless anyone out there has horror stories about Fileducky, that's what I'll now be using for future posts.

Personally, Eric, I would stay away from Fileducky. I've been a faithful visitor of the MS blog since its inception in Jan. 2007 and, along with you and Jim and the others, have been on the bumpty road of Massmirror, Xirror, etc.

As such, I would recommend Qshare.

I know a guy who runs a porn blog where each porn movie has 12-15 files and he's never had one problem with Qshare deleting his content.

Just my two cents...

Thanks for all you're doing here.

Heck, just use rapidshare. Easy, reliable, and now you can upload 200mb files, so no more splitting of longer CDs! For the folks who complain about having to pay to use it, whatever. Download an album, and if you actually bother to listen to it, most of the time elapsed before you can download another has, well, elapsed!
(and this suggestion comes from someone who does NOT, repeat, does NOT have a premium account)

But regardless of the file-sharing medium, again, thanks for all of your efforts and generosity.

Only used fileducky for 1 or two uploads, fwiw they are still active >3 months later.
Good Luck!

actually, Rapidshare no longer makes you wait between downloads. at least, it hasn't been doing that for me, and I don't have a premium account. given this improvement to their service, Rapidshare bothers me a lot less than it used to, FWIW...

megaupload : fast, free, long lasting links !

First time I ever heard of fileducky... can't be that good.

I actually had good results with Shareonall when Fauni Gena was still active. MassMirror has been a disaster for a long time. I miss Xirror.

I love Fileducky! Never had problems with that, and uploads are superfast. But anything you'll choose will be OK, Mutant Sounds rules!

I was unaware that RS stopped the time limit between dl's for non-premium. If that's the case, maybe I won't renew at the end of this month...

I've seen many blogs use Sharebee for a long time with little or no problem. It's completely free (no registration and you need only provide an email if you want the link url sent to you) and distributes to Badongo,zSHARE, RS and Megaupload.

The 100MB cap can be exceeded, the file just won't get distributed to the service(s) that have a lower cap that the file you upload. I started using it on my blog a couple weeks ago and so far find it works very well. If I want to upload 5 files, I just open 5 tabs and they transit concurrently.

Either way, good luck and thanks for all the music MS has shared.

Fuzztunnel-I think it's still best to use a file spreader and just save the rapidshare links to avert any future issues. I like to try and keep everyone happy here....

Cheeba-Oh man...I was gonna say that I'd love to use Sharebee, but every time in the past that I've attempted to use them (except for right when they started) they've not work for folks who use macs. However, I just decided to give 'em one last try, in case they've finally resolved this issue, and...guess what? Indeed they have!
I'm far happier going with an established provider like Sharebee, then having to use unproven ones like Fileducky et.al...Super glad that you prompted me to give them
another go! Sharebee it is!!!

Glad I could help to alleviate any headaches. It's scant repayment for what I've gotten from the mutant crew, though!
