A VDOANDSOUND AUCTION

For the benefit of those of you who still collect original vinyl rarities, here is a link to a list of 10 experimental/psych/prog/what-the-fuck? obscurities that I've just posted on ebay as a sort of testing of the waters (just click on the hyperlinked text of the album that you're interested in to take you there). If enough interest is shown, further installments will follow in short order, so stay tuned and best 'o luck to all interested parties...

Eric

If you ever wanted to sell that Trummerfrauen 7" I'd pay whatever you ask.

I know, it's kind of sad. If you look at the sidebar, you'll see that there's not one, not two, not even three, not just four, but FIVE (5) "contributors" to this blog.

Yet, you generally only hear from one or two of them.

Furthermore, IMHO, the (once magnificent but currently just decent) reputation of this blog is diminished by the simple fact that noncontributing contributors are allowed to remain listed in the sidebar. What for?

Isn't it sorta like being a scientist on the human genome project and then two or three days in you quit the team, but still get full credit for the marvelous outcome and noteworthy successes of the project?

To put it a better way, this blog may be turning into the musical online equivalent of the (0)bama administration, i.e., do nothing but read from a teleprompter and still get your name on the front page like you're actually saying or doing anything remotely meaningful.

I remember the good old days (circa Summer 2007) when Eric would make new posts every 5-7 days. Man, I long for those days to return, but alas, he is probably just busier these days. I can dream anyway...

Eric and Jim get a (huge) pass, of course, but the other "contributors" are a sad sack.

i dont give a **** about who's contributing or who's not, if guys are busier or they just dont want to keep sharing it's their deal, they've done so much already that anything that anyone of us can say is only duuuust in the wiiiind

KEEP ON KEEP ON MUTANTS!

anonymous-"thanks" for that entirely
judgmental spiel, which manages to say a lot without knowing pretty much bupkis. If either Jim or I had attempted to continue at the pace of we did initially, we'd have burned out long ago. As it is, musical work on VDO-related projects has quadrupled this last year, making a set of posts on MS a rather bigger challenge for me than previously, but I still attempt to get posts up every 7-9 days, (instead of the 5-7 you quote...oh dear!). Jim inn turn has an considerably more complicated and responsibility-
laden existence away from MS than mine, increasingly more so this last year, including frequent moves. Life happens. Just be happy with all this that this whole shebang has managed to stay afloat.
Also...one of those other "sad sacks" listed in the sidebar is my bandmate Matt from VDO. He's contributed plenty (largely out of public view), from both a musical and technical standpoint. So...hey! Start your own blog, post some 2600+ albums and then feel free to chime in again with more delightful bon mots then...I'll await your hard earned opinions then.

Hi!
Pretty good blog.
Could you reupload the George Jinda lp?
Many thanks for all the work done and keep going!
Carlos from Madrid.

Some posts are really amazing!

Even if it had closed after only three months of posting, Mutant Sounds would still be the most fantastic blog.

The feeling of entitlement of some people, jeez, it's just incredible. The MS crew has been putting up mind-blowing music at an amazing pace for more than 2 years, and FOR FREE!!! Silence is golden. I wish all selfish know-nothing-do-nothing idiots would shut up and be thankful.

Right on and well put...good wishes to all at Mutant in any and all endeavors and will always be thankful/grateful for any time you have in which you choose to share your love of great and lost music.
