Between-And the waters opened, LP ,1973, Germany
An unusual and unique group, the German group Between was the brainchild of musical theorist and experimentalist Peter Michael Hamel. As such, Between drew together a wide range of international musicians into a musical and cultural melting pot. And The Waters Opened with its atmospheric dronings is probably Between's most innovative and fascinating, it's an album that oozes beauty and mystery. Haunting and evocative, it's almost chilling!

Really good album. Lumped into the Krautrock scene, though I feel it's a tad more on the avant side of the spectrum than many of the more rock oriented artist of that style.

I already have the Germanofon boot of "...and the Waters Opened" so I didn't need to download it. I believe there is finally a legitimate CD released. If anyone is debating whether to download this or not please go for it. It's probably Between's best.
After a year can't stop listening to this one....really gorgeous w/o too much effort weighing heavily on top.

Maybe this work should be also called "And The Heaven Opened", so beautiful it is.

Also his other works in Between or later alone are also great (not to forget his Hammond contribution to the 1st Agitation free LP).
I'd like to hear his joint work with Karl Orff.
