Nico - Desert Shore, LP, 1971

To write anything about this record will be offensive! Just listen with respect one of the best rock records ever made!Even if this record hand only 1 song ,and that will be "Janitor of Lunacy" , it will deserve it's place amongst the 50 best records ever made!

I actually had this album more than a decade ago, but thought it was such crap that I sold it back after just a few listens. Yet now it sounds dementedly brilliant. I guess my tastes have improved! How about "The End"?

I've always wondered how this album has never gotten the recognition it deserves. It's probably the best thing Nico ever recorded, and one of the greatest albums ever! Great you out it here! Definitely more people need to listen to it!

Your blog is absolutely wonderful! Thanks so much for all of this great, incredibly rare and important music!

The related movie "La cicatrice interieure" - the cover photo is from there - was re-issued on DVD (about a year ago), just search for the torrent file if you like. And there're more Philippe Garrel movies around nowadays, and Andy Warhol's "Chelsea Girl" as well.
As to "Desertshore" specificly, as much as I'm happy to see it - and my personal favourite "Janitor" - honored here, it's no way a rarity in terms of Nico. But I guess those can be found elsewhere...
