CONRAD SCHNITZLER-00/106, CD, 1997, GERMANY

More of this Krautrock electronic godfather's 90's era goodness for your collective perusal here; Schnitzler's M.O. around this time having become increasingly inclusive, with his work on 00/106 unfurling a whole galaxy of multi-tiered frequency smears, tintinnabulating electroacoustic concatenations and John Duncan-like shearing greyscale static drifts.

Thanks for the Schnitzler. Maybe not as good as his classic analog stuff from the 70s and early 80s, but still way too good to be ignored. The voices in track 14 are a nice touch.

R.I.P. Conrad Schnitzler …

Just a quick and wholly inadequate thanks for all the Schnitzler. And here's hoping the rest of the world catches up someday.

It's funny you said that 'anonymous', as it took me until this year to catch up. I was initially a bit naive, almost snotty, assuming that Conrad was 'just another German synth musician' whose music sounded like Tangerine Dream, Schulze, etc. However, after taking a listen to the the beautiful 'three minute symphony' and the album, 'Con-Hertz' I was sold. He was very unique and special and listening to his works can teach me much about electronic music. We did lose a pioneer when he passed away. I might have been late on the bus, but I'm sure glad that I caught it. Thanks to you Mutant Sounds for consistently putting great stuff like this out there for us to appreciate.
