MAX & MALCOLM-S/T, LP, 1982, UK

With a cover more likely to suggest an Aztec Camera 12" than an art damaged piece of synthy-post-punk-into-minimal-synth excellence, this highly obscure LP from two of the prime movers behind the superb mutant post punk unit Metabolist is in fact a real treat. On Max's side, I get whiffs of Australia's Laughing Hands, Woo and the LAFMS art pop unit BPeople, While Malcolm's side is a little more brittle and frosty and decidedly where minimal synth signifiers start to come into play (in a sort of Dark Day fashion). Fantasic stuff!

I love Metabolist. I had no idea of this release. Anything else by them lurking out there?
