MODERN JAZZ · Bubble Head Breakdown ,tape,1983,Australia

Modern Jazz was an electro-based live performance group assembled and co-ordinated by Ash Wednesday. Not a conventional group by any means, Modern Jazz was carefully designed to constantly evolve and change form, to include various configurations of numerous and diverse select musicians and artists. It was to exist, therefore, as a vehicle for creative input from a varied extent of sources. This input was often directed towards the idea of mating computer generated sound and vision to human spontanaiety (perhaps stange bedfellows to the uninitiated). When viewed from this angle, the name 'Modern Jazz', however ironic, was specifically descriptive.
Ash Wednesday is an Australian musician.
Wednesday played synthesizer in JAB (1976 - 1979) and The Models (1979 - 1980). In 1980 he released a solo single, "Love By Numbers". He formed experimental outfit The Metronomes with Al Webb and Andrew Picouleau. Throughout the early 1980s, he was a member of Modern Jazz, an improvisation group who performed to randomly generated techno beats. In 1988 he joined electronic / industrial band Crashland.
Wednesday moved to Berlin in 1992, where he worked with Nina Hagen, being involved with pre-production and programming for the album 'Freud Euch' ('Bee Happy') (1995).
Since 1997 Ash Wednesday has been a touring member of the legendary German band Einstürzende Neubauten. He completed several world tours with them and is present on their live albums, such as 09-15-2000, Brussels and numerous recordings from the Perpetuum Mobile tour (2004).
In 1999 he returned to Melbourne and formed The Tingler (with Crashland vocalist Lyn Gordon) and Machine Poets (with Garry Gray and Andrew Picouleau).
Sorry no pic sleve scans.

This is just fantastic. Dark, melancholic, beautiful, artful, far above most of the other DIY stuff. Thank you, sir!

Off topic, but I think if anyone can help, it's you: Can you provide 48 Chairs' album "70% Paranoid"?!? Have read such amazing things about it and would love to have a listen. Thank you!
