FURIOUS PIG-S/T, 12" EP, 1980, UK

One of the more notorious entrees in the Rough Trade discography, this deranged EP of percussive a cappella group chanting, belching, screaming and loopy looning sounds like someone corralled David Moss, Carles Santos, Jaap Blonk, Maggie Nicols, Moniek Toebosch and Anna Homler in a room and had L.A. sound poet/performance artist Michael Peppe arrange an intricately choreagraphed psychodrama song canon for 'em to enact. This gang are pre-Het, for those that have checked out Ad Hoc's reissue of their mindbending work (and for those that haven't...make a beeline) and sound like the absolute blueprint for Mieskuoro Huutajat (the Finnish Screaming Men's Choir). Mad, mad shit!

Oh yeah - I still have my original, but it's great to see it reproduced here. This was frequently blared inside our van during the most recent TLASILA tour... Always an inspiration!

Best,

TS

Fantastic. On the label it should have said "UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED"!
