I think you accidentally left Britney Spears off the list, man! :O)
who's Critney Spears?Do i have to know her?Missing something?I'm really asking,not joking....:P
Echo Beach is a really great song, so it's included two times!! Anyways, I like your list, but after I've found so much new stuff on this blog and partly going out of my head, my mutant sounds list would at least include: Art Objects, Missing Presumed Dead and also some of that great DiY Singles Stuff. You are doing a fabulous thing here, thanx a lot! I will soon digitalize some obscure stuff that I've found in my vinyl collection (do you know Oliver-Standing Stone from UK, 1976 for example?) and tell you where to find it after I've uploaded it. Cheers, alex
well this is let's say a top 50 of songs that i hear for more than 20 years at anytine.anymood....if i really wanted to make a top something i guess it would be top 500 or 1000...concerning oliver lp...i think i already got it
Any list that has Joe Crow and Zounds in the top 20 is a damn fine one!
My favorite Martha and The Muffins song is "Dansepark". It's definitely one of my favorite new wave pop song of the 80s period. I also like the cheap cool 80s video for "Dansepark" too, you can see it at YouTube:

I think someone also has the "echo park" video on YouTube but you probably already saw that one.
When I was younger I use to always prefer The Specials first album more than their second album. But now I kind of prefer the second album "More Specials" because on that album Jerry Dammers did a lot of original things that the fans and the public obviously did not fully understand.
"Action, Time, and Vision" is definitely the best song that Alternative TV made. I only wish the albums they made would have featured more songs like that one. Many of the experimental things that ATV tired were really boring and not executed well on LP which to me always made them an overrated band. Still ATV's album cover is still one the best looking album covers of all time to me, so simple and cool looking.
The album cover alone made me never give away my LP of it.
rico
Well, at least I know the next playlist I will attempt to compile. I shant opine until I am more familiar with these. But, you're recommendations have always been spot-on.
Thanks for the roadmap!
How about "I Can't Smile" by the Chimes.

1+1 \ dikos mou an8rwpos dld :)
Great list. I feel that "Felt" should be in there, someplace though
at least somebody who knows sad lovers and giants.
You forgot Oops I did it again by Britney Spears. That's the best song ever.
Everything is great except Radiohead. I wouldn't turn a firehose on them if they were on fire.
Nice list
I would have included Dalek I's, "A Suicide" from their 'Kumpass' album
dear mutant sounds, do you think you wil ever post this list of top 50 "pop" songs as a download?
thanks for all the music!
some kind of surprise to see that you also enjoy the more common alternative things on earth although they sometimes make ME want to grab back to my abba stuff - all great things remain on the edge of a scale - so thank you for all the eye-opener music you've been posting
