This guy wasn't actually in Cybotron. The connection is that Geoff Green of Cybotron helped out on his other album, 'Back From Beyond'.
Oh, yes he was. He played in live Cybotron (early 1980s) with Geoff Green and drummer Greg Farrington.
I saw them at the unforgetable 3PBS-fm launch at the Prince of Wales Hotel, St Kilda, in the early eighties. When the Cybotron number finished there was a short stunned silence - then a prolonged, extended ovation - and a lot of Wows!
According to Ian's website the "band" name is Violet Lightning, and the album Void Spirit, not the other way round.
