OMOIDE HATOBA-MANTAKO, CD, 1994, JAPAN

This Boredoms offshoot project of Seiichi Yamamoto's unfurls loose-knit tapestries of wetly writhing post-psychedelic confusion amidst showers of electronic flutters, twitters and shudders that ripple across this music's surface in thoroughly fried stylee, while still managing to leave room for some of the residual disruptive brainscramble tactics evident from their contemporaneous work on The Boredoms' fuckery of this era (Pop Tatari to Chocolate Synthesizer period). This is the first of several Omoide Hatoba titles that I'll be posting in the coming days.

Speaking of Boredoms... anyone here manage to go to the 77 drumkit Boredoms show in Brooklyn yesterday (7-7-07)? Apotheotic transcendent magnificence, to put it mildly. Still dazed and ecstatic over it.
