RANDY GREIF-BACTERIA AND GRAVITY, LP, 1987, USA

Following Jim's post of his Lost Contact and It's In A Box tapes, this vinyl debut of Greif's work is for me one of the highest points in the discography of this evocative experimentalist. Greif's sensibility was hitting something of a critical mass on this one, his fevered malarial inversion of Jon Hassell's fourth world aesthetic creating an atmosphere that reeks of Werner Herzog's vision of wilderness as oppressive and deathly.
