This is to thank you for all of your postings of Wakhevitch. I wish that I could have hear these recordings contemporaneously with their releases, but music from France was, and still is, kept obscure in America. I surmise that we were not supposed to hear innovative, convention-defying music(s), as we still are not.

Hi,

maybe you can help me track the history of this recording. I am aware of various CD reissues in the late 1980s and early 1990s (I have just purchased one of those, and I am bowled over with this piece), but your post seems to pertain to an LP box. Was that published back when the recording was made in 1974? On what label? Is there a label number? Thanks for any info you can provide on this.

bayer-quest-there are two versions of the Etre Dieu LP boxset, a regular and a deluxe version, the latter being the one I own. Both were issued during the 80's (deluxe ed. in '85...not sure about the precise year of release on the regular version). My version was published by D'Art Surrealista in '85 (catalog # ed-50.003) and, I believe, was principally for sale through the Dali museum in Cadaques at the time. Comes housed in a gigantic 15-or-so pound clear lucite case housing three blue fabric bound insets "books", the first containing the three LP's, the next containing the libretto, the last containing a print of Dali's "Autoretrat"
