ALPHABETICAL UPLOADS OF WHACKED OUT SINGLES PT. 1

This is the first installment in what will be an ongoing series of postings of singles from the vdoandsound archives. Sort of Mutant Sounds' own answer to the Messthetics/Homework series, only with a wider ranging remit, taking in the last 40+ years of experimental music making. The only titles I'll be omitting from posting will be ones that are either too recent, too common, by friends or collaborators I've not asked the permission of or singles which have been posted here previously. Enjoy!

A BAND-S/T, 1991, UK
Richard Youngs, Neil Campbell and a vast array of others doing the communal freakout thing in this intriguing weirdnik clatterfest.

ADN' CKRYSTALL-ARABESKETCH/DO ZEU TWIST, 2006 (RECORDED:1985), FRANCE
Instantly out of print recent archival release of killer French minimal synth that blows their Jazz Mad LP out of the water. Sounds like Spain's Los Iniciados.

A5-KALTE EROTIK/LANGST VORBEI?, 1981, GERMANY
Great, charging tension filled Neue Deutsche Welle post-punk.

AFTER DINNER-AFTER DINNER/CYMBALS AT DAWN, 1982, JAPAN
Totally demented but oh-so-fey Japanese proggy art pop experiments with R.I.O. overtones. Killer.

ALEPH-LOVE MEMORIES/INJECTION, 1969, FRANCE
Swiiiinging Paris, baby! Yup...this is as groovy as all hell and has thus attracted the expected DJ culture vinyl vultures. It's also as psychedelic as hell...wonderful!

GERMAIN HUBERT ALES-S/T, EP, 1982, FRANCE
Brilliantly crazed French art rock thats virtually a Red Noise for the 80's. Bits of Renaldo And The Loaf, Heratius, Look De Bouk, Philippe Doray...this thing sounds about as godhead as the cover looks...

ALGEBRA MOTHERS-STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE/MODERN NOISE, 1979, USA
High strung but terrifically fun jittery new wave art pop in the spirit of the L.A.F.M.S. outfit Human Hands.

THIS LENGTHY POST HAS BEEN DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS.

this upload isn't working for me...

Not working beacuse it's not zipped. Once the d/load was completed, I added ".zip" to the end of the file name and tried to unzip, but not all of the music files were there and of those that were, they were all very, very small. The upload needs to be re-done.

Dear peops, indeed, the files don't have the common structure (I guess VDO forgot to give these files extensions), but with a little creativity from us ;-), they ARE working all right:
first, download one of the files only. Give it the extension "rar".
Make a temp folder. Unzip to there with 7-zip, as usual. Remember, go to the correct levels in your file before setting 7-zip at work.
Then download the second part and do the same.
Presto ta-da...: that way you should have 12 jpgs and 17 mp3's.

Good luck,
Lex

No "sirup", but let me stress my utmost thanks once more to our good uploader fellows who keep amazing us every single day. And today is indeed a very fruitfull one, I'm sure everyone agrees.

Sorry to bother about this, but I lost a drive's worth of files in a recent crash, including all of my whacked-out singles archives. My foolishness for not backing up, I know. I'm hoping that you might at some point be inclined to re-link to the collections that have gone cyber-dormant. I'd certainly be beyond grateful and appreciative; I'm sure you are extremely busy and I know it's a lot of work, but I have to give it a shot. Thanks for this amazing blog!
