THE LOOP ORCHESTRA-SUSPENSE, LP, 1990, AUSTRALIA

A gorgeous album of bleary, queasy, revolving and devolving loops of acoustic source material antiquatedly tape manipulated by hand for your sense deranging pleasure by this Australian outfit featuring former early Severed Heads member Richard Fielding and the extraordinary electronic composer Patrick Gibson, who's jawdropping tape Jim posted a while back.

For people downloading Loop Orchestra, make sure that:

1. Track 2 is 20MB after extracting.

2. Track 3 is larger than 1KB (should be 21MB)

I used Winzip to extract, but noticed the file sizes of the tracks weren't adding up.

I had to use Winzip in order to get the full 20MB second track.

And I had to use WinRAR in order to get the third track at all.

When I extracted with Winzip, track 3 only showed up as 1KB in size.

Just keep an eye on the extraction for this one, to make sure you're not missing anything.

Read some of the ridiculously nasty comments. Ignore them. Don't even respond. I can't thank you enough for broadening my horizons.

Could I ask that all posts on the site be through sharebee, as the limits via rapidshare are a problem.

Take care

I just wanted to point out that the link points to wrong file.

John Blades passed away on November 25th 2011 at the age of 51. John played a huge part in the Sydney music scene, he was a member of The East end Butchers with Peter Doyle, and of course a founding member of The Loop Orchestra. Despite having MS he continued with his radio show Background Noise up until recently.

RIP John

I just listened to a tribute to John Blades on the program Night Air from ABC Radio National in Australia. As a result, I went looking for some Loop Orchestra albums. I was sorry to see the links for this album were all dead. If someone could possibly repost this recording somewhere, I would greatly appreciate it. I host a radio program that plays music such as this quite often, and I would love to share some of the orchestra's work with my listeners.
Kind Regards,

Hello. I was just wondering if perhaps someone could repost this classic album. As far as I can determine, all of the links have expired. I discovered this post while searching for some Loop Orchestra albums after hearing a tribute to John Blades which was broadcast on the program The Night Air on ABC Radio National. The music sounds fascinating, and I would love to share some of it with my listeners, as I too am a volunteer radio producer/programmer. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
Kind Regards,
Jason

What a unique blog!! I'd love a repost too, if that's possible. I'm just learning about these guys and the little I've heard sounds too interesting to miss.
