DHARMA QUINTET-END STARTING, LP, 1971, FRANCE, NWW LIST

As requested by Jim, this is far and away the most overtly jazz qua jazz entry in the Nurse With Wound list of recommendations. Enjoyably loose and fragrant stuff, somewhat akin to the likes of Arcane 5, though Dharma Quintet are a bit more free and frenzied. Probably not for those that require their jazz tempered by rock, though.

Thanks for this very rare item on the NWW list. Wouldn't be out of place on a CD with some of Braxton's free pieces.

Thanx Mr. Mutantsounds

Again, you have changed my life. My emotional life depend largely on music has it is the only language that thruly makes any senses out of this world. You, your friends and a few other blog are contribuing in compleating the chromatique circle of the evolution of musical genres. Whitout the proper knowledge of the existance of this wonderful music, nobody could get access to this because all industry, even most of the avant-underground shit records company, don't give a shit about theses rarity. Million of thanx. An I personnaly love the sharebee, it give's a chance to the poor motherfu.. student like me.

best regard, you are a missionary

I was absolutely stunned when I saw this. This LP is not only great, but something we've all been looking for for such a long time (for it's NWW List value of course). I'm not really sure what to say, other than give you guys another huge thank you for this and all the other great stuff you've shared over the past few months. This blog is incredible.

Hi,my name is Alfred Harth. In 1970 my band "Just Music" had been playing for one month in Paris where we had met the Dharma musicians. Here is a photo that "Just Music" cello-player Franz Volhard took of them. He also has another LP of them.
