LA PATTONA-RECLAME, 12" EP, 1981, ITALY

Hyperactive and jaunty as hell, La Pattona's zany post punk stylistic pastiche merit a few winces along with the grins that ensue, though their appropriations of cheeseball musical motifs seem cut with an evident layer of ironic intent unfortunately unavailable to the non-Italian speaking among us. Nevertheless, as kooky shit goes, this is a definite winner, their madcap new wave-isms bearing a certain similarity to their countrymen in Confusional Quartet.

This is a really mythical artyfact.
I never thought that Pattona "released" something. Only read in a
ancient italian wave mag (Rockstar)
that they did a demotape.
It will be interesting, at this point, to know if they did also
an LP.
Please, note that the italian best new wave (in the algid/futuristic sense) was Faust'O "Out Now" highly
experimental record.

monotono from italy
