JEAN-FRANCOIS PAUVROS-MUSIQUE POUR ANNE DREYFUS, CD, 1993, FRANCE

Following my post of his collaboration with Japanese vocalist Setsuko Chiba, here's a striking array of tracks scored for the dance works of choreographer Anne Dreyfus by this one-time Catalogue member and current (if occasional) Keiji Haino sparring partner. Events here seamlessly wander in and out of focus as Pavros' spindly and spacious articulations for guitar and piano (occasionally buttressed by rhythm section interventions) sketch spectral environments and move in mercurial elipses.

NOTE: IT WAS JUST BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS CD HAS BEEN RECENTLY REISSUED AGAIN BY SPALAX, SO I'VE REMOVED THE LINK. THIS WONDERFUL CD CAN BE FOUND VIA THE FINE FOLKS AT FORCED EXPOSURE Here
