MARKS AND LEBZELTER-ROCK AND OTHER FOUR LETTER WORDS, LP, 1968, USA

This groundbreaking landmark of dada rock and soundbyte collage owes a huge debt to Zappa's pioneering work on Lumpy Gravy. Mix that up with the "everybody must eat rhubarb pie" portion of Friendsound and the cut on Aphrodites Child's 666 with Irene Pappas' insane "I am To Come I Was" rant and then array amongst all the above a passel of audio snippets from a rogues gallery of rock notables circa 1968, including everyone from Brian Wilson to Grace Slick to Pete Townshend to Tim Buckley, their verbal expoundings arrayed for maximum non sequitur value and you might be getting close to grasping what Messrs. Marks and Lebzelter were getting at with this mad release. A mindbomb. Note: I debated for quite a while before deciding to post this one, as while there is not an excessive amount of surface noise here, there are however three seperate skips on side B. Due to the insane rarity and historical significance of this recording though, I've decided to post it anyway.

I'm having the same problem as the above poster for some reason. Mass Mirror has a countdown which says something like "your mirror sites will be available in 15 seconds", then it counts down, but no mirror sites appear at the end of the countdown. I have tried it with all Mass Mirror uploads today and get the same result. I thought it might be my Pop-Up blocker, but it didn't work after I turned it off either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Anonymous and Brian-I get the countdown too now (which is new and decidedly non-thrilling), but the links do appear for me after the specified 15 seconds. Dunno what else to say. It's probably just a glitch they'll have ironed out shortly. Fingers crossed...

Thanks vdoandsound, I'll certainly keep trying!

You said there are surface noises on the recording... I have a digital copy of this album thats sounds pretty decent. If there's some way, I'd be willing to help out.

Joey, Please upload the digital copy if you can/want and post it back here in the comments section. I would love to hear a copy with no skips. Many thanks.

Just wanted to update... tried Mass Mirror with the Firefox browser and everything works fine. Must be some issue with Internet Explorer. I've been waiting for a reason to ditch IE completely, and this is it!

Anyone else having problems should do the same.

Thanks for all the great music here, you guys are saints!

Ok, this is my first attempt at uploading files, and I can't exactly say these files are perfect. There is a little surface noise, but I don't think there are any skips, and the sound quality seems fine. I hope this helps out, because this record is pretty cool, and I'd love to help out this blog, which I think is awesome. Here's the link, I hope it works ok:
