Julverne-Emballade,LP,1983,France

Following my previous post of A neuf LP by Julverne here comes their next one.More classic meets jazz oriented avant prog here.Complex compositions with strong early 20s chamber music influence, yet with strong Universe Zero/Aksak Maboul feeling. All tracks are covers/reprises from all sorts of early century composers inckluding Scott Joplin and Duke Ellington , and some tango kings.A very interesting and essential avant prog LP of course ,though it cannot reach the greatness of A Neuf and Coulonneux LPs.

I think JULVERNE is Belgian. I mean this is an astounding band AND a Belgian one!
