ALESIA COSMOS-EXCLUSIVO!, LP, 1983, FRANCE

For my money, one of the greatest experimental bands of all time, Alesia Cosmos fuse two of my all-time favorite musical trajectories with a suave effortlessness that just leaves me awestruck. Imagine an admixture of hot shit Bene Gesserit and Los Iniciados-style femme vox minimal synth beauty and the playfully whacked species of 70's Euro art damage to be found on the recordings of Catalogue, Birge-Gorge-Shiroc and work from the Aksaq Maboul/Honeymoon Killers cabal. Now imagine that the result is perhaps greater than the sum of it's parts. Beyond essential. Their second album follows tomorrow...

This place continues to blow my mind. I think of it as a place to go. A place to learn about incredible music.

Thanks

Vdoandsound, thanks for your great posts. I was wondering why you photograph all the covers on an angle? flat scans or photographs on a flat plane would be much more useful.
Thanks.

Graham-I'll be posting them photographed flat from now on. My super tricked-out digital camera that I got as a gift has a stupidly convoluted interface that prevented me from figuring out how to disable the flash function 'til yours and another complaint forced me too grapple with it. It's something I should have gotten sorted a while back, but didn't know it was bothering anyone. Consider it corrected.

Vdo, your ambitions keep on surprising me in many pleasant ways. I'm looking forward to your photographs of 2d covers. But not after telling you i came to love the 3d ones too. For me in a way they represented the beauty of the original objects, and elegantly reminded me of the fact that I was listening to a very generous persons private treasures.
Thanks very much for lots of wonderfull music and an extra big thank you for the Alesia Cosmos. Amazing record! Really looking forward to their 2nd one!

you seem to know a lot about new music and love it. You give the music for free, but it's not yours. You seem to want to support the musicians and the band.
I was the leader of Alesia Cosmos and still a working musician. Thanks for your appreciation of our music.
But we have a whole stock of this LP, that we sell on our web site. Can you inform of this by putting a link to :

Ce disque est en effet excellent (à l'exception du titre Pat'lin d'merde qui détone un peu d'avec les autres), quelle folie musicale, quel bon moment d'extravagance !
