LORSSON/PLAT YPUS-S/T, 2x3" CDR, 2003, FINLAND

One of the first releases of Finland's estimable freak folk imprint 267 Lattajjaa (edition of 30), this double 3" CDR set is a decided mixed bag, principally posted here for the headscratchingly odd work by Plat Ypus, whose modus operandi (vascilllating between rhythm box-driven vignettes of ass-backward mulched electronica, mid-period Boredoms spasming art splatter and post-rock repetition) seems reasonably remote from the detuned communal improv psych jamming aesthetic that 267 Lattajjaa has become notable for. As for Lorsson...well...I'm sure there are still some devoted Bananafish-heads out there who are in the market for their breed of knuckle dragging lo-fi shit fit.

Thx! As a complement to this post, I upped Plat Ypus' Valis to my blog.

Holy shit! I played in Plat Ypus (actually still do but we´ve been "on hiatus" for years.) Maybe worth mentioning that this split was ltd. to 30 copies. Earlier PlatYpus material was more in the noise/hardcore/boredoms-vein, later it was "krautrock-lofi-improv-whatever". If you can find the rest of our stuff, esp. the Disco recorded cdr (often compared to Chrome whom we knew nothing of at the time) or Valis lp, feel free to upload them. *you could ask Piotr, he might have them*
